When you hear the words "western apparel", many different things often come to mind. One person might think of a rugged cowboy wearing a long sleeved, button down cowboy shirt with denim jeans, boots, and chaps. Someone else might imagine a woman wearing a three quarter length sleeved, lacy shirt with a skirt and boots, and yet another person might imagine a western horse show competitor in their stunning show outfit that consist of a very fitted, sparkly shirt, matching pants, chaps, and boots, and a very well coordinated hat to top off this amazing outfit.

The point to all of this is that western apparel can mean a lot of different things. This means that there is no right or wrong combination of different western pieces that will make the perfect western outfit. One day you could wear a western shirt with a pair of jeans and the next, you could wear a western shirt with a skirt (if you are a woman).

Many people choose to wear western cowboy hats with their western shirts and jeans, but this is not always necessary. If you are competing in a horse show arena or at a rodeo, then a cowboy hat is part of the required apparel. But if you are just going out for a night on the town, you can leave your cowboy hat at home and still create a very polished and stunning outfit.

There are many different components of a wardrobe that fall into the category of western apparel. The most obvious is the western shirt. Western shirts can be made of a variety of different materials and will come in many different colors, patterns, and styles. Another critical component of western apparel is the cowboy boots. Cowboy boots, like western shirts, come in a variety of different colors and styles. You can also find cowboy boots that are made from a variety of different materials like leather, ostrich, alligator, and synthetic materials.

It does not matter what image pops into your head when you hear the words "western apparel", all that does matter is that you feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing.
